Launch of Free Play and Learn for 2 year olds Parent Portal

From Thursday 5 October 2017 parents will be able to check whether they are eligible to apply for 15 hours free play and learn through our new Parent Portal.

Parents will submit their information and find out straight away whether they are eligible. They will then receive their eligibility email confirming their code. They will then take a copy of the email to their chosen provider to request a place.

Please note: Parents who receive a golden ticket do not need to confirm their eligibility on the Parent Portal. They just need to present the golden ticket at their chosen provider in the usual way.

Some parents cannot check their eligibility on the Parent Portal – they will need to contact us on 03000 268 913 for an application form. This includes where the children:

  • are looked after by their council
  • have a current statement of special educational needs or an Education, Health and Care plan
  • have left care through special guardianship or an adoption or residence order
  • are in receipt of the Disability Living Allowance

Providers can then enter the details of eligible children through the Provider Portal to claim funding. This removes the need to contact the Childcare Places Team to verify eligibility for cases where a 6 digit code has been issued. You can find out more on page 12 of the Provider Portal Guide
