Croft Community School

We are a special school with provision for 130 pupils with moderate learning difficulties and/or autistic spectrum disorders.

A increasing number of students have more severe or complex difficulties including a growing number who exhibit challenging behaviour.

The age range of our students is 4-16 years and all have a Statement of Educational needs or Education Health and Care Plan (EHCP).

We do not offer assessment places for pupils without an EHCP.

How does the setting/school/college know if children/young people need extra help and what should I do if I think my child/young person may have special educational needs?

Croft Community School has excellent links with previous settings and other agencies.  All pupils coming in to Croft Community School do so with a Statement of SEN/EHCP.

Where the school identify additional services and support will be of benefit, they will refer or signpost families to other services.

Croft Community School is an inclusive learning community where children and young people with additional needs follow the National Curriculum appropriately differentiated in terms of pace and content, enhanced by an wider curriculum which focuses on their development as young people who can take their place in the wider world.

Croft Community School works in partnership with families to support children and young people.

Parents evenings, reviews, phone calls, website, texts, home/school diaries and an open door policy enable us to stay in touch.

Croft Community School has a strong focus on pastoral care and well-being of pupils.  The school believe that well-being and enjoyment are essential if children and young people are to engage and progress in their education.
