Child Bereavement UK

Child Bereavement UK supports families and educates professionals, when a baby or child of any age dies or is dying, or when a child is facing bereavement.

Every year we train more than 10,000 professionals, helping them to better understand and meet the needs of grieving families.

In the UK, when a baby or child dies, or a child is bereaved, many of those affected are unable to access good quality support which meets their individual needs. We believe all families should have the support they need to rebuild their lives when a child grieves or when a child dies. Our aim is to make sure they do.

Referral and availability notes

Referrals for bereavement support are made by calling our Helpline on 0800 02 888 40, which is open Monday - Friday, 9am - 5pm.

We actively encourage families/carers to self-refer to enable us to offer initial support over the telephone whilst discussing the referral. In our experience this also encourages early engagement with our service and supports successful outcomes.

If a family feels unable to contact the Helpline themselves, we can take a third party referral with their consent.

4 - 25 years
