Early Years Online Training

Childminding UK was formerly known as Northamptonshire Childminding Association. We have been operating for over 25 years, are a charity and not for profit organisation and so can produce realistically priced training.

All Childminding UK online courses are produced within the staff team. They are written to cater for the needs of Ofsted registered Childminders, but can be helpful to other early years practitioners too. Links to the Early Years Foundation Stage and other supporting documents are given throughout all courses where applicable.

Registered Childminders and other early years practitioners can find it difficult to find suitable face to face training courses at a time that is convenient. Online learning gives them the opportunity to access high quality suitable training at a time that suits them.

Childminding UK's online training is available to complete all at once or revisit as many times as needed depending on the time available. Unlike some online courses, there are no limits to how many times a learner can retake the Knowledge Test at the end of the course. Once successfully completed, they can print off a named certificate for their record of ongoing Continuous Professional Development. Once a learner has purchased a course, any future amendments will be available to the learner without any extra charges being made.

Topics include:

  • Safeguarding children.
  • Recording children's development - includes observing children and building a development file.
  • Prevent Duty and British Values.
  • Managing children's behaviour.
  • Data Protection- links to EYFS record keeping requirements.
  • Working with children who have SEND.
  • Food Hygiene - content approved protected by Primary Authority.
  • Getting ready for your Ofsted inspection.
  • Completing your Early Years SEF.
  • Understanding and working with the Early Years Foundation Stage.
  • Developing children's learning (child development, equality, diversity, inclusion and play).
  • Leading and managing a childminding setting (marketing, tax and insurance, risk assessing, settling children in, working with parents, record keeping, routines, portfolio building).
