Ankers House Museum
The Anker's House is in a small annex of the main church and was the residence of an Anker/Anchorite - a religious recluse from the 14th - 16th centuries and was probably established sometime around 1350 - 1380.
This Anchorage has been described as the most complete example of its kind in England and is in itself the museum's main exhibit.
St Mary's and St Cuthbert's Parish Church is also open at the same times as the Museum. The church is open only for services Thursday morning and Sundays.
A facsimile of the Lindisfarne Gospels is on displayin the church.
