Chester-le-Street Heritage Group

Our group is interested in the history of the town and surrounding villages. We undertake a variety of projects. In 2018 we are continuing the work on the Chester Marras project about mining communities in the local area and are considering undertaking research into WW1 in the Chester-le-Street area.

We meet first and third Wednesdays at Chester-le-Street Library and hold a weekly drop in every Tuesday morning at the Salvation Army from 10.00am to 12 noon.
