Stage 2 Young People's Supported Accommodation
This service provides housing related support for young vulnerable people aged between 16-25 years of age.
- 24 hours
- eleven bed accommodation (self-contained)
- short term – up to one year
Areas of support include:
- budgeting
- debt advice and benefits
- help to understand your tenancy responsibilities
- developing independent living skills
- settling into your home and setting up utilities
- advice on how to access other services in your local community
- help to access training, education and employment opportunities.
At Easington Accommodation, our aim is to provide supported accommodation to young people aged 16 – 35 years old who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and in need of support to develop the skills needed to live independently in the community.
Stage Two consists of three separate buildings within East Durham;
- Stage Two Core Building (4 fully contained flats, 8 studio flats plus communal areas) Shotton Colliery – Length of stay 12 months (review at 9 months)
- 2 x Dispersed properties: length of stay 12 months (reviewed after 9) - 1 in Peterlee (2 bed) with shared communal areas, 1 in Horden (2 bed) with shared communal areas
This service offers:
- 24 hour support.
- Aged between 16 and 25 years of age in the stage two project and aged between 16 and 35 at the shared houses.
- Short stay – up to 1 year at the Stage Two Project with move on plans within the shared units for up to 12 months to build up further independent skills.
