Little Treasures Autism Charity North East

Little Treasures Autism Charity are for families of children with a diagnosis of Autism, children who are getting tested, children who have been tested, children diagnosed with GDD and fragile x. Siblings are also welcome.

We are now a registered charity, supporting North East families and have autistic Adult Support Groups. Throughout the year, we offer a range of workshops, social activities, activities in groups, Christmas parties, social activities, and more!

Sensory Sessions

These sessions are all £5 for one child or £7 for a family.

We have specialist play equipment for the children to access at our sensory sessions, play toys, tea coffee and cakes! We also offer free courses, trips out, book libraries, information, support, pamper sessions for parents, and activities within the group for children. For children aged 2-19, siblings welcome too.

For young people aged 8-13. Siblings are welcome but they must also be aged between 8-13years old. These sessions are £5 for one child and £7 for a family 

In these sessions we have Arts and crafts, game consoles, diamond art, clay building, paint by numbers, board games, lego and more!

Big cook little cook. This session is pre bookable you CAN'T just turn up.

Big cook little cook are cooking sessions for the whole family, these sessions are to have fun while learning basic life skills. The whole family are welcome. £5 for one child and £7 per family.

Youth group.

These sessions are for young people aged 13-19, siblings arent welcome, and we encourage the parents to leave the young people. This is to promote independence and to allow them to just be themselves. Parents are welcome if needed by the young person. This session isn't suitable for anybody who needs 1-1 care or can't maintain their personal needs. This session is £5 per young person.

Bouncy castle

Our bouncy castle session is a great session for sensory seekers. There will be lots of various sensory equipment out for all aged children. This session is £5 for one child and £7 for the family.

We have a lovely session for any aged child and their sibling who enjoys being creative. This session is £5 for one child and £7 for the family.

Parent support groups.

Parent support groups are for parents to chat with other parents, make new friends if they wish, and gain some advice. Tots and home educated children are welcome if needed. These sessions are £4 per person.

Charlie's chess club.

This session is for anybody who enjoys playing chess, wants to learn how to play chess or is just looking for something to do. Anybody, autistic or not can attend this session. This session is £4 per player or £6 for a family of more than one player.

You dont need to book or register for any session (apart from the big cook little cook), just turn up as and when you feel you need the support.

We also offer government funded courses to parents, carers, and schools on understanding Autism and surrounding Co-Morbids. We offer workshops for parents on makaton, sex education for children with SEND, our own SEND Christmas parties, and more.

Unlike some services you don't need to be referred, you can drop in whenever you like. We do close most groups in July and we return in September because over the summer we offer social inclusion activities.

All volunteers are DBS checked and have a Level 2 qualification in Understanding Autism.

Majority of volunteers are also parents of children with Autism or Autistic adults themselves.

We support families of autistic children, children on the ASC pathway, we offer government funded courses and activities to reduce isolation and promote inclusion.

We also offer workshops for parents, things such as makaton, sex education and relationships, anxiety and sensory workshops too.

We have questionnaires that we hand out in groups asking parents what it is they would like for activities and we also post on our facebook page. 'Little Treasures Autism Charity (parent/carer support page)'
