Blind Life in Durham
Blind Life is made up of members from around County Durham, who have differing levels of sight loss. We are very welcoming and friendly and enjoy friendship, lots of fun and laughter.
One of our aims is to promote the welfare, independence and quality of life for people with visual impairment in County Durham and we do this in a variety of ways.
We hold a monthly social meeting, produce a monthly newsletter in a variety of formats, have a weekly Skype chat group and much more. We hope this helps to keep isolation at bay and encourages socialisation.
We also hold regular New Age Kurling, New Age Bowls and Boccia sessions, which is fun and could also bring out the competitive side of you! Guidance is available to enable you to play.
During the spring/summer we have very enjoyable days out to various places around the North East, and throughout the year we have groups that go to the theatre and really enjoy the shows.
The committee, which steers Blind Life are open to suggestions for new activities or things to do and will put it to the members to ascertain their interest.
