MAIN - Short Breaks, Newton Aycliffe

We offer short breaks for any child or young person with any additional need or disability between the ages of 5-18 years. 

Our groups run activities such as arts and crafts, baking, outdoor play, sports and games in a fun and safe environment in order to encourage children and young people to socialise and develop on different skills. 

Our short breaks welcome siblings to attend and run throughout the week after school, on a weekend and during the school holidays. 


Out of School Club (5-18 years) from 4.00pm - 6.00pm 
Tweens and Teens (11-18 years) from 6.00pm - 8.00pm 


Youth Group (5-18 years) from 4.00pm - 6.00pm


Creative Club (5-11 years) from 9.15am - 11.45am
Creative Club (11-18 years) from 12.00 noon - 2.30pm

A referral must be made to MAIN- Taking Autism Personally. This can be made by parents/carers, adults, partners and professionals.

If you wish to discuss whether you will meet our criteria please call our team on 0191 300 8556.

There will be a registration form to complete prior to accessing the service in order for staff to understand where we need to support the child or young person within the sessions.
