St Mary's Parish Church, Barnard Castle

Our church has historic links to Richard III. Indoor labyrinth for use by visitors and pilgrims.

Services take place on:


  • Holy Communion at 8.00am.
  • Main service and junior church at 10.30am.
  • A service introducing the newly baptised and their parents to worship at 4.00pm. Particularly child and family-friendly, this service is a less formal act of worship which uses craft activities.

Baptisms, weddings and funerals can be arranged with the vicar.

Smuffies under 5's group meets on Tuesday's during term time in the parish hall from 1.00pm - 3.00pm.

Our Community choir rehearses in church at 5.00pm on a Friday and our Community Band at 10.00am on a Saturday.

Our parish hall is regularly used for church events, table-top sales, coffee mornings, afternoon teas, Women's Institute sales and more.

Our hall is available to rent for commercial, community and church purposes. Please contact us for more information.
