Independent charity and membership society.
Our group support the preservation, repair and maintenance of Durham Cathedral, providing grants to the library, education department, maintence of the woodlands and much, much more!
With lots of benefits to membership, we hold free regular lectures to our members, provide a discount in the shop and restaurant and to the Open Treasure. We also arrange special events, concerts and outings for members,
Our Annual Friends' Festival Day is filled with special tours, AGM, talks and Festival Evensong when the Cathedral Choir sings from the top of the tower at the end of the service.
We publish a Spring newsletter and an Annual Report in the Autumn which advertises all events and includes application forms. We regulary produce and email newsletter for our members and you can follow us on Twitter @DCathFriends!

Most parts of the Cathedral are accessible to wheelchairs. There is a chairlift to Priors Hall where Friend's lectures take place.
