TIN Arts 'Bounce' dance classes for children and young people

We offer fully inclusive dance classes for children aged 2 years upwards: Tiny TINs, Scramble, Frantic. Twister and D+.

Tiny TINs  (2-4 year olds)
Tiny TINs is a creative dance class specially designed for the youngest members of our community.

Led by professional dance teachers with extensive experience of teaching young children, we introduce your little ones to the world of movement, music and expression in a fun and educational way.

You and your children explore a range of exciting themes – from pirates and jungles to rainbows and the seaside - to create your own movement and kinaesthetic language.

Tiny TINs is a unique and dynamic way for your child (2-4 years) to develop social skills and self-expression through creativity and exercise in an enjoyable and relaxed environment.

No previous dance experience is necessary – just come ready for a fun-filled, active class with a break for chit-chat with other parents and free refreshments. 

Scramble (4-6 years)
Scramble is the perfect class to try dance for the first time. The class is aimed at 4-6 year olds and explores problem solving through dance. 

Led by professional dance teachers, this class encourages little ones to become independent of their parents allowing them to grow in confidence, create movements and share ideas.

Scramble is unique and dynamic way for your child to develop social skills and self-expression through creativity and exercise in an enjoyable and relaxed environment.

No previous dance experience is necessary. There is a separate room for parents to wait for their little one if they wish to.

Frantic (7-9 year olds)
Frantic is designed for 7-9 year olds and is the ideal class for children to try dance for the first time.

This class covers a range of dance styles from learning the latest hip hop moves and street dance through to jazz, musicals and ballet.

This class is a unique way for your child to develop social skills, build relationships and have fun whilst dancing and exercising. Your child will also explore creativity and self expression, making up their own dance routines and perfecting their technique.  It’s fun, it's fast, it’s frantic!

Twister (14 years and over)

This class covers a range of dance styles from learning the latest hip hop moves and street dance through to jazz, musicals and ballet.  Dance styles are changed every half-term so we can guarantee that there is something for everybody. Members work closely together to create, rehearse and perform new material and gain many social and personal benefits including developing confidence and making new friends in a fun environment.

TIN Arts are looking for young people who are interested in dance or the performing arts and are 12+ years. The group meets from 6.00pm - 7.00pm on Friday evenings at TIN Dance Space in Durham City. 

D+ (12 +)
D+ is a dance class where young people can access a high standard of training in contemporary dance. Sessions focus on technique, creative skills and choreographic methods.   

D+ acts a foundation level of training and prepares young dancers who may wish to audition and progress onto higher level courses such as the Centre of Advanced Training at Dance City.

Members have the opportunity to create and choreograph new pieces of dance individually, in small groups and as part of a whole group. All this is done with the support of a professional dance artist.

The group meets from 7.00pm - 9.00pm every Friday throughout the school term and is based at TIN Dance Space in Framwellgate Moor, Durham City.
