We offer a young people’s accommodation service based in Consett. Our aim is to support clients to work out what they want out of their lives and the journey that is requires to enable them to reach their full potential.

The Durham County Council Commissioning Team funds the support element of our service provision. Tenants are responsible for all other charges, including rent, water rates, council tax and certain housing service charges.

The service provides:

  • 24 hour cover
  • 12 self contained flats
  • support for young people aged between 16 and 21 years
  • short stay – up to a year

Areas of support include:

  • budgeting
  • debt advice
  • benefits advice
  • help to understand your tenancy responsibilities
  • developing independent living skills
  • settling into your home and setting up utilities
  • advice on how to access other services in your local community and help to access training, education and employment opportunities.

One service is for young people aged between 16 and 21 years and is situated in Consett. The other service is shared accommodation in two houses and is currently for people with enduring mental health issues aged between 18 and 65 years.
