Treloar School and College offers physically disabled children and young people a specialist environment where education and learning take place alongside therapy and care.  Treloar’s offers day and residential placements, aged 2 to 25 years.  Each student is supported by a multi-disciplinary team of professionals on-site.

Cost description - based on the assessed need of each individual young person. Every one of our student’s fees is different and entirely bespoke, depending on the level of staffing support and therapy required.

Treloar’s is a nurseryschool and college for physically disabled young people providing integrated education, therapy, medical and care support to both day and residential students.

The School and College are located on a single purpose built campus at Holybourne close to the thriving market town of Alton. The campus is fully accessible with a high proportion of the facilities on our site being built over the last 10 years.

We provide education to young people with wide ranging physical and learning disabilities from 2 - 25 years of age. Students may be working at pre-entry level right the way up to level 3 (A level equivalent).

How are decisions made about who can use your service?

How are decisions made about who can use your service?

The decision about a placement at Treloar’s is usually made by the parent and student on the basis of an assessment carried out by our professional multi-disciplinary team. Some students are funded privately but most are funded as part of an agreement with their local authority. The decisions on funding links to the student’s Education Health Care Plan (EHCP).

How do I know what is going on and can I be involved in making plans for the future?

How do you communicate with service users and how are they involved in decision making / planning?

Parents/carers are viewed as a partner in the whole process from assessment, through their time with Treloar’s and into transition. We are seeking to demonstrate our commitment to working with and supporting parents through the achievement of the Leading Parent Partnership award which sets exacting standards in this area. Our approach includes:

  • BELONG – the Parent and Child Group for pre-school children
  • Parents’ coffee mornings
  • Termly drop in sessions providing an opportunity to talk to other parents with advice and support offered by Treloar’s PTA.

Treloar School and College are located on a single purpose-built campus at Holybourne close to the thriving market town of Alton, Hampshire.

The campus is fully accessible with state-of-the-art facilities including: specialist classrooms, enterprise and life skills centres, specialist art and photography rooms, a technology hub, drama hall, well-equipped therapy suites, hydrotherapy pool, and a fully equipped health centre.  In addition, there are residential houses offering a home-from-home feel and first-class care, as well as sports facilities for a wide range of accessible sports including swimming, wheelchair racing and Boccia.

What training have your staff had regarding SEND?

What training are the staff supporting children and young people with SEND had or are having?

A full programme of mandatory training is in place for all staff covering all the essential skills for their roles.  Teaching staff are all fully qualified and hold a range of specialist qualifications.  All our care and class support staff have an appropriate Level 3 qualification or are working towards achieving this.  There is an extensive programme of specialist qualifications and training available which enables all staff to be more effective in working in our student-focused multi-disciplinary way.
