SHAID - Housing advice and support

We provide housing advice, support and related services to help young people make the difficult transition to living independently in the community.

Our services include:

  • Pre Tenancy Service - support for young people aged 18-25 years, who have issues around housing.
  • Floating Support - offering young people age 16 -25 support in their own  tenancies or in the transitional period towards independent living.
  • St Peters Court - A complex of sixteen self-contained fully furnished apartments. The development is specifically designed for former armed services personnel.
  • Plan 4 Life - SHAID and DurhamWorks Plan 4 Life programme is for people aged 16 -24 living in County Durham. This project approaches your educational and employment dreams in an informal, creative and fun environment.

The premises is unsuitable for wheelchair users, however SHAID will endeavour to see any clients with mobility issues in premises more suited to their needs.
