Alan Shearer Activity Centre

We offer free recreational, sensory and social facilities for disabled children and adults, families, schools and groups.

To use the free facilities, you first need to become a member of the centre, which is also free. You can join by downloading an application form from our website.

Once you become a member you can book sessions in any of our specialist rooms, including our luxurious hydrotherapy pool, sensory cave and sensory rooms, giant ball pool and the sound and music room. We also have an adapted outside play area, sensory garden and accessible woodland walk.

You must book your session before arriving at the centre. For more information, visit our website or contact us.

What training have your staff had regarding SEND?

What training are the staff supporting children and young people with SEND had or are having?

Staff at the Centre are trained and experienced in supporting people with a range of disabilities, including training in PECS and Makaton. Centre Manager, Amanda Head is highly experienced in working with people with disabilties and is qualified to Diploma Level 5.
