Ann's Angels Childcare

I offer ‘30 hours childcare for working parents’ and can provide 2 year funded places.

I have been a Childminder for 15 years and am based in the Consett area. I live with my husband Gareth and two children aged 9 and 15 years.

Children have daily trips to places such as toddler groups, soft play and the library. In school holidays we go further afield to places such as Centre for Life, the beach and parks.

I follow the Early Years Foundtation Stage (EYFS) and provide activites to help further develop childrens abilities. Each parent will have access to their child's daily communication entry, Assessments, Observations and photos through Kinderly.

I have an assistant working with me called Lauren who has been in childcare for many years. My husband Gareth also works with us.

How does the early year's provision identify and assess children with special educational needs and disabilities?

How does the early year's provision identify and assess children with special educational needs and disabilities?

Working in close contact with parents, professionals and the council is paramount. All children have assessments completed when starting, this is also done every two months with observations and communication in between. Children with disabilities will have a Health Care Plan created in order to provide the very best care and support for the child.

How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?

How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?

Activities are planned for each child's age and ability by following the EYFS. Monthly topics are selected for the children to experience new and exciting things from around the world. This includes holidays, celebrations, nature, cultural differences and foods.

How accessible is the early years setting environment? (indoors/outdoors)

How accessible is the early years setting environment? (indoors/outdoors)

Access to outdoor play is very accessible through the kitchen. Indoor play is fully accesible on street level.

How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?

How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?

It's important to work closely with parents and the child's current setting in order to support a smooth transition. This can be done by sharing information about the child's likes and dislikes, having plenty of visits to the new setting with parents as well as by themselves to get used to the sourroundings.Speaking to the child about their new setting and asking them questions about how they feel is important, allow them time to talk through their concerns and worries.
