Ann's Angels Childcare

I offer ‘30 hours childcare for working parents’.

I have 20 years experience with working with children and am based in Consett.  I live with my husband Gareth and two children.  We have 2 dogs called Brinkley and Duke.

Children have daily trips to toddler groups, soft play, the library, local shops, the park, sensory rooms and Believe&Be. During the holidays we go to places such as Centre for Life, the beach, parks and museums, organised activities such as Mini Explorers and bowling or trips to the cinema.

Children have access to a wide range of toys and resources as well as an outdoor area. We do crafts daily and specific crafts when events happen like Easter or Christmas. Children love story and song time, we go to Mini Explorers on Mondays where the children can explore and learn in their surroundings and do exciting activities in forest school. We have a well being afternoon (termly) children love having a facial and their hands and feet massaged whilst listening to soothing music. They do relaxing breathing activities and Cosmic yoga. We are doing an explore food day where children can investigate foods by trying them, making something or learning about them. We have a library where children can take a book home and read with their parents, they each have a reading log so we can see how they get on with each book, babies take hard back touch and feel books. it's proving to be a sucess.

We have also made our pledges with DCC for well being, Healthy eating and Oral Health. Children will be learning these areas through play, outings and learning stations.

I follow the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and provide activities to help further children's development and allow them to learn and explore.

Each parent will have access to their child's observations and photos, wow moments and development tracking through Kinderly, an app through Pacey. Parents will also be given their child's 2 year check via Kinderly and their invoices. Daily communication is given when children are collected. Any pictures or creations made throughout the day will be given to parents Daily.

I have 2 amazing assistants called Leanne and Jamie, they both have a background in childcare and bring so much fun, love and laughter to our setting.

You can find me on Facebook, Ann's Angels Childcare and childcare.co.uk, I’m happy to answer any questions you may have with regards childcare, policies or payments. I'm happy to help you find childcare if I cannot help you, I know it can be a daunting task.

How does the early year's provision identify and assess children with special educational needs and disabilities?

How does the early year's provision identify and assess children with special educational needs and disabilities?

Working in close contact with parents, professionals and the council is paramount. All children have assessments completed when starting, and observations regularly.

Children with disabilities will have a Health Care Plan created in order to provide the very best care and support for the child.

How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?

How will the curriculum be matched to meet children's developmental needs?

Activities are planned for each child's age and ability by following the EYFS. Topics are selected for the children to experience new and exciting things from around the world. This includes holidays, celebrations, nature, cultural differences and foods.

We have all done online SEND courses, follow updates from DCC and extend our knowledge online.

How accessible is the early years setting environment? (indoors/outdoors)

Access to outdoor play is accessible through the kitchen.  Indoor play is fully accessible on street level.

How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?

How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?

It's important to work closely with parents and the child's current setting in order to support a smooth transition. This can be done by sharing information about the child's likes and dislikes, having plenty of visits to the new setting with parents as well as by themselves to get used to the surroundings.  Speaking to the child about their new setting and asking them questions about how they feel is important, allowing them time to talk through their concerns and worries.
