Local Offer

Local Offer description

I have no children with special educational needs at the moment however I have accessed special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) training and would consider further training to meet the individual needs of children in my care.

How does the early year's provision identify and assess children with special educational needs and disabilities?

How does the early year's provision identify and assess children with special educational needs and disabilities?

Special educational needs and disabilities (SEND) policy:

  • I follow the requirements of EYFS (2014) and the Childcare Register (2012) and provide an inclusive environment for all children and their families.
  • I comply with the requirements of the Equality Act 2010 and the SEND Code of Practice 2014.
  • I talk to parents about their individual children taking the view and opinions of parents to support activities and opportunities.
  • I talk to children about their likes and dislikes, encouraging awareness and respect for others.
  • I provide a wide range of resources, activities and opportunities which reflect the local community and beyond.
  • I use observations, regular assessment and individual planning to support individual children’s development.
  • I share information with parents and carers about their individual children’s development and support with ideas for the home.
  • If necessary I would support parents with any external agency work relevant to the child.
