Horndale Infants' School

We are a very successful infant and nursery school for boys and girls from 3-7 years. We have a partner junior school on the same site.

Our school is very pleasantly situated. It is well kept internally and externally and we try to keep all areas free from litter and graffiti. Pupils have genuine "ownership" of their second home and carefully protect property within the school's perimeter. Our Governors work with the Local Education Authority, the Head Teacher and staff to ensure that all children receive a sound, well-balanced education.

We aim is to create a caring, happy, secure and stimulating environment in which children can explore and investigate, listen and discuss, in order to acquire those basic skills of reading, writing and handling numbers which will allow them to make good progress in all aspects of the curriculum. Children are given every opportunity and encouragement to develop to their full potential. Every child is valued as a worthwhile individual.

Through a partnership of pupils, parents, governors and staff, we are committed to developing the child's potential by preparing each individual for life. This partnership will nurture the child's social, emotional, intellectual, physical and spiritual growth towards a greater understanding of the world in which each child now lives.  Teachers at the school care for each class of children and have special responsibility for the co-ordination and development of particular areas of the curriculum throughout the school.
