Bishop Ian Ramsey Pre-School (Independent)

We offer ‘30 hours childcare for working parents’ in partnership with other childcare in our area.

We are a 30 place sessional pre-school located in Medomsley.

We are independent from the school.

We rent a room in Bishop Ian Ramsey School and use the outdoor area daily exploring the woodland and wildlife. We have three members of staff all trained to at least Level 3 of a childcare qualification.

We are a very small pre-school where children are cared for and nurtured in a safe stimulating environment.

Local Offer

Local Offer description

We aim to give every child the best possible start that supports them to reach their full potential. We are committed to the equal inclusion of all children in all areas of pre-school.

We understand and follow the special educational and disability (SEND) code of practise and supply an inclusive service to all children.

We regularly liaise with outside agencies to support children with their development.

Staff have autism training, first aid training and behaviour management training.

We are able to make referrals to agencies for children that may need extra support. We use and follow support plans for children to aid their development.

We can adapt our areas to accommodate all children and purchase resources to support their needs. We are located on the ground floor with easy access from outdooors.

How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?

How will the early years provision prepare and support my child(ren's) transition to their next educational establishment?

Children who are moving into the school attached have regular pre-visits. We have special themed days with the reception class, allowing them to get to know the teacher and support staff.

We are joined to reception class so the children are already familiar with the reception classroom.

For children attending another school we pass on all of our development information to the school and liaise over the telephone with the school.
