Kidzone

We offer 3 and 4 yr olds free 30 hours funding for working parents. We also offer the Play and Learn 15 hours for 2 year olds and universal 15 hours for 3 and 4 year olds.

We are a family run day nursery, out of school club and holiday scheme located in Crook.

The children fundraise for various charities this year we collected for the local Food Bank and Children in Need.

The staff and children access the local area on a daily basis. For example we buy fruit and vegtables from the market weekly,  giving the children opprortunity to handle money and feel part of their community. They also regularly visit the local library to choose books of interest to help support their learning within nursery. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum. Planning incorporates visits from the Police, dentist, farmers etc. into the nursery to speak to the children to enhance the childrens knowledge of the world they live in, safety and care.

We have been open for 17 years come October 2019 and have a very low staff turn over, ensuring continuity for children.

Local Offer

Local Offer description

We have two SENCOs who regularly attend training updates. We try our best to meet the needs of all children requiring extra support. We work with any agencies involved, attend development meetings and allow the necessary professionals into the nursery to carry out assessments, physiotherapy etc.

We follow any guidelines/plans which may be in place. We work closely with our local Health Visitors to hopefully identify and support any additional needs early.
