County Durham Local Offer - feedback, development and review
The County Durham Local Offer is dedicated to helping families of children and young people with Special Educational Needs and/or Disabilities (SEND) find the information they need. The Local Offer has a wide range of information on services, short breaks and activities that can support you and your family.
It also helps practitioners and professionals see what services are available in the local area.
The Local Offer was developed in partnership with parents and carers, children and young people and also colleagues in education, health and care services, including the voluntary and community sector.
The Local Offer is constantly being reviewed, updated and developed. We do this by working with parents and carers, children and young people and services. We also gather information through our online feedback questionnaire. Each year we publish a report about this process.
According to the SEND Reforms of 2014 we must:
- Publish a ‘Local Offer’ which includes information on education, health, care and other provision.
- Publish an annual report on feedback about the Local Offer, showing what children, young people and parents have said about the Local Offer, and what we have done in response to their comments.
For those unable to access online services, please contact us. We can signpost to services and send out printed information from the Local Offer.
Information regarding what the Local Offer should include is available from the SEND Code of Practice and SEN (Local Offer) Regulations 2014
